My husband insisted that he needed some ice cream…he almost killed me when he put some reeses peanut butter ice cream in our cart. I veto’d that and he chose something less tempting for me and suggested I pick a ‘light’ ice cream. I looked around a bit, havent been in the ice cream isle in a long time actually….I found one that was fat free! Actually a couple, but the one I settled on was Breyers fat free french chocolate. Half a cup is 90 calories and has 0 grams of fat! Its actually really good. I didnt have super high expectations, I did the low carb thing way back before it got really popular and remember the horrible ‘low carb’ ice cream they had out at the time. I was really impressed with this. It has a nice smooth creamy texture and a great chocolatey taste. I measured out exactly the serving size and it was pretty satisfying. Im the type who can sit down and polish off a disgusting amount of ice cream so either Ive changed a ton in the past months or this is just a really good ice cream. Next Ill be in search of a good fat free strawberry ice cream. Yum!
Im supposed to have a rest day per my running schedual but Im planning on a ‘hill walk’ to get ready for my 5k in a few weeks. Saturday I am schedualled to do a test race up my race route. Im not sure what Ill do with the kids but Ill have to figure out something! I cant push the stroller up that hill without hurting myself. I think my new training plan is what finally jumpstarted my weight loss again. I had been doing the same half marathon training program since like October 2006 I think. Perhapse my body got used to all the long slow runs I had been doing and I needed to kick it up a notch-which I was afraid to because I thought holy cow, how can I do MORE?! Im always behind on my house work and orders for my little home buisness as it is! But the shorter faster distances have really been enjoyable, and I think it even has freed up a bit more time (well my house is cleaner…) One of the big changes to my work outs has been hill work. When Im on my treadmill after my runs I start the incline out at 0% and every 30 seconds I put it up half a percent until I reach the top incline of 12%. I only walk this-slowly at 3mph but wow, it is a great work out, I can feel it in my abs, lower back, butt and legs. I plan on doing this ‘hill work’ this evening but instead of just 30 seconds each incline Im going to do one minute at a time since I wont be running beforehand, but I dont want to over do it since Im supposed to have a rest day.
My kids ate ALL DAY LONG. And it drove me crazy. I cannot even begin to list all the food they consumed today. It was obscene. Every time I turned around they were asking to eat. I couldnt keep them full for more than a few minutes it seems! Its hard not to graze all day when Im making food for them constantly but I think I did pretty good
