My search for a used treadmill began a couple months ago. I decided it would be beneficial to my training to have a way to run while my kids were asleep. My husband works crazy hours so many times, especailly in winter he is gone well before sunrise and gets home around sundown and between preschool and naptime sometimes my days get eaten up pretty quickly. Ive been known to throw the kids in the stroller at naptime and hope for the best, its usually a 50 50 gamble. Either the baby will nod off or the kids will fight and scream and be miserable. So I began saving for a treadmill. I started watching my local ebay auctions, checking local print ads and stalking the Las Vegas craigslist. I was hoping to find something within the first couple of months of the year. I figured February-April should be a high month for used fitness equipment, some of those people making good intentioned fitness resolutions were bound to have thrown in the towel. So I stalked the ads and contacted a few potential sellers but I hadnt found what I was looking for in my price range. I plan on using it fairly regularly and for running, not walking so I wanted a motor with 2.5hp. I saw an ad on the las vegas craigslist for a Horizon Fitness T54 for $350. This was the upper end of my budget but knew this treadmill goes for $1300-1600 new. I contacted the seller and found out it is at a store called fitness beast in henderson Nevada. It also had a few issues, but may come with a warrenty. The issues were it didnt have the little safety key and the barings were loose so the treadmill wobbled. So I made plans to head up to Henderson. I needed new shoes anyway!
